The Atco Quiet Shredders offer an environmentally friendly solution to this perennial problem at an extremely quiet 84dB(A)*. The Quiet 1800 model has a self-feeding spiral blade system that automatically draws in the shredding material and revolves at 260rpm, making it considerably quieter than traditional impact blade shredders. The unique shredding action offers the advantage of automatic feed plus a reverse running and blockage release system that clears blockages without the need for dismantling the hopper. Featuring a 1800 Watt motor. The 1800 takes up to 35mm. It is height adjustable and has convenient integral bag hooks. The shredded material undergoes a “cut and crush” action producing small fractures in the chippings allowing access for micro-organisms and oxygen to accelerate the composting process. The shredded material can be used as a course layer in a compost heap or as a decorative weed suppressant and mulch on flowerbeds.
